ONE Lab is proud to be the sponsor of Cairo University students (Amr Adel, Ahmed Tarek, and Abdallah Muhammed) who passed the first phase of Innovate FPGA Competition.

The project title is “CNN hardware accelerator for detection of distracted drivers“. This project is about deep neural networks hardware accelerators. The power consumption of current GPU implementations restricts the usage of neural nets in small devices such as cell phones. The proposed design is about developing a digital design specific to CNNs, such design can accelerate the inference time and reduce the area and power thus providing a tiny but efficient deep learning processor for mobile devices or critical applications

The InnovateFPGA is a global FPGA design contest where teams from around the world compete as they invent the future of Artificial Intelligence with Terasic and Intel. The competition is open to everyone including students, professors, makers, and industry.
