Thanks to NTRA, ONE Lab CRC II Remote FPGA Access helps Graduation Project students during COVID-19

On July 2019, a funded project, led by Alexandria University named “Collaborative Research and Teaching Testbed for Wireless Communications and Networks-Phase II (CRC II)“, that targets remote access to hardware resources, has been concluded. ONE Lab was the main partner from Cairo University to allow Egyptian (and later, worldwide) students and researchers to sue the FPGA resources remotely to avoid long travels to Cairo University campus as well as to allow hardware resources access 24/7 (24 hours a day and 7 days a week). The project was funded by NTRA (National Telecom Regulatory Authority)for 2 years with a total fund of EGP1.5 Million.

Currently, due to COVID-19 pandemic, all graduation project students at ONE Lab are using the CRC platform to do their hardware experiments without the need to move out from their homes which keeps them safe.

ONE Lab would like to catch this moment to thank NTRA for their support to this project which is essential now for all students.

Thank You NTRA
