On Dec. 15, 2021; ONE Lab Research Group has an accepted journal paper in collaboration with a funded ITAC project led by Dr. Mai Kafafy and Dr. Yasmin Fahmy at Cairo University.
The paper title is “ Implementation of a DPU-Based Intelligent Thermal Imaging Hardware Accelerator on FPGA ” which is one of the pioneer papers in addressing the hardware acceleration of Machine Learning algorithms with the DPU (Deep Learning Processing Unit) provided recently by Xilinx.
The paper software part is fully developed by Dr. Mai Kafafy and Dr. Yasmin Fahmy whereas the hardware implementation is fully carried out by ONE Lab Research Assistants Eng. Abdelrahman Hussein (Currently PhD Candidate in Canada) and Eng. Ahmed Anwar (Currently with AveLabs in Egypt).
